Fort Fisher Aquarium Coupons
Although North Carolina aquarium coupons are in demand thanks to increased demand (high ratings from Travel Channel’s Best Aquariums in the U.S. and a Top 10 NC Attraction award didn’t hurt), purchasing your admission is a deal even before factoring in any discounts and coupons! That’s because, compared to other popular city aquariums, the admission prices at Fort Fisher are a third the price even at full price! Check out other great deals & pro tips below for more money-saving advice.
NC Aquarium Coupons & Discount
Discounted Group Rates
If you have a party of 10 or more people, you can receive 15% off (only if the entire purchase is made by one person, though).
The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher honors military vouchers purchased from the Tickets and Tours Offices on military bases. Active duty and retired military personnel are eligible for these discounts if the tickets are purchased in advance from one of these outlets.
Trick-or-Treat-Under the Sea
This special event is held for two nights before Halloween. Tickets are $6 per person, which represents a $2 discount off the typical adult admission price. This event has been going on for 10 years. Costumes are encouraged and games, candy, and prizes abound.
Volunteer and Get Access
Gain access to your favorite aquarium by volunteering. The aquarium is looking for an 8-10 hour commitment per month for a full year. The aquarium seeks volunteers with a wide variety of skill sets. Education volunteers oversee presentations, interpret exhibits, and facilitate crafts. Horticulture volunteers take care of the plants.
Certified Dive Volunteers clean and maintain underwater exhibits, as do Aquariology Volunteers. Operations volunteers assist with overseeing the facility such as maintenance. These volunteers need prior experience in engineering and electrical work. Finally, Special Events Volunteers help with setting up and breaking down big events.

What to See and Do
A new shark exhibit just opened, but it is not what you would expect! Instead of enormous vicious predators, the North Carolina Aquarium is offering baby Bamboo Sharks that can be touched! These small wonders are listed as “Near Threatened” on the World Conversation Union Red List. This aquarium is working hard to educate visitors about the diversity of sharks in the world, including these cute touchable babies.
The Fort Fisher aquarium offers several opportunities to get up close and personal with individual species. Educators and divers are available to answer questions. There are scheduled times to touch animals such as reptiles and amphibians. Want to watch the inhabitants of the aquarium eat? Join a wide array of species for mealtime according to a schedule that varies by day.
Kids will flip for Adventure Reef, an outdoor playground at the aquarium. This new addition features fun equipment like springy climbing cables and wobble pods. Take the kids to this playscape mid-visit to let them release pent up energy.
Visits to this aquarium average 2 hours, but participating in special programming adds to the time. The busiest time for the aquarium is during weekdays from 10 am-2 pm in April and May. During these times, large school groups bring energy and activity as they visit the aquarium for field trips.
